Partnerships
We receive requests for various forms of partnerships with commercial organizations, start-ups, cooperatives and initivatives in the area of privacy and data protection on a regular basis. While we are happy to support any effort that brings more privacy and data protection onto users' devices, our small team has very limited capacity to engage in such partnerships.
That being said, do not hesitate to contact us, if you have a specific and precise partnership suggestion where the focus of your work and our work may overlap.
Our principles for sponsorships and partnerships
Independence and neutrality are core values for us, we therefore set strict limits on any form of sponsorship and partnership. This should avoid any negative experience or even just the suggestion of any conflict of interest for everyone. We review each proposal individually and will take the following aspects into account:
- We review the details and track record of any sponsor or partner to ensure that there is no conflict of interest.
- We cannot recommend services or products as being specifically privacy friendly, since we do not have the capacity to analyse and test them in depth. The costs for doing so would usually exceed the amount that a sponsor or partner would support us with.
- Sponsors or partners may not indicate that noyb supports their services and products.
- We limit sponsorships from the private sector to €20,000 per organization and year.
- Unless otherwise agreed we cannot provide you with content (e.g. participate in a conference) or share any content you provide to us (e.g. blog posts).
- If we take enforcement action in any area where a sponsor or partner is active, we will not inform a sponsor or partner thereof and investigate every controller on the same basis.
- We may terminate sponsorships at any time, should any conflict of interest arise.
