Datatilsynet is the national Data Protection Authority for Norway, headquartered in Oslo. Datatilsynet is an independent body established in 1980, through the Act No. 48 of 9 June 1978 relating to personal data filing systems, etc. § 2. Through information, dialogue, complaints handling and inspection, Datatilsynet oversees the GDPR in Norway and supervises that authorities, companies, organisations and individuals follow data protection legislation.
