The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was deemed to set the standard for data protection and privacy in the digital age. Since its implementation five years ago, many EU Member States and local Data Protection Authorities have developed a variety of procedural and practical ways to undermine the GDPR.
Member States could ultimately change these laws and practices to make the GDPR more efficient and the EU could take action against these practices.
