This is one of noyb 101 complaints which were filed after the "Schrems II" judgement in Summer 2020. The judgement invalidated the EU-US data transfer mechanism "Privacy Shield". The cases were generated based on implemented Google Analytics or Facebook tracking code on websites by EU providers, which leads to unlawful data transfers to the United States.

"In its responses the website owner is of the view that it does not have a role in in relation to any transfers of personal data from FIL (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) to Facebook Inc. (Meta Platforms Inc.) as these arrangements are entirely controlled by Meta. Further, the website owner states that at the time of the complaint it was a joint controller with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, for the purpose of enabling the complainant to access the website using his Facebook account only. The DPC continues to engage with the website regarding its role and whether it conducted the necessary due diligence upon implementation of the Meta tool on its website. The DPC endeavours to conclude this complaint without delay."
